Heal · Shift · Grow

Rainbow Koru supports your journey through shamanic healing.

FACILITATED by CHRIS BANKen

Are you feeling stuck? Lost? Perhaps there was an event in your past (trauma) that you just can’t shake. If that is the case, then a shamanic healing session will shift you towards your healed outcome.

Sessions are completed in person or remotely by telephone or Skype. They may involve a guided meditation (journey), visualization, energy work, or a combination of all three.

What is Shamanic Healing?

Shamanic healing is a general term applied to almost all forms of indigenous, Earth-Based healing practices.

What can I expect from a Shamanic Healing Session?

We first begin with a chat which I prefer to do with the client prior to the session so I can understand the issue, identify themes, and get to the root of the issue. This allows me to prepare for the actual session, so that the session time is used efficiently.

The session may involve a guided meditation (journey), visualization, energy work, or a combination of all three. This is shamanic healing, this is what I practice. It is not a ‘reading’. The focus is on healing.

A typical session lasts about an hour and can be done in person or remotely by telephone or Skype.

What's with the name?

Rainbow originates from the form of energy I use - Rainbow Great Fire.

Koru, is the New Zealand Maori word for the spiral shape of a unfurling fern frond symbolizing new life, growth, strength and peace. The koru is a prevalent symbol in New Zealand which I learned to appreciate after living there for 3 years.

WhO IS CHRIS?

Well, I’m still discovering that! But here is a wee bit about me...

I was born and raised in the Toronto area, the son of Dutch immigrant parents. My ‘normal’ job is as an aerospace engineer. I use math and science every day but my experience has made me realize that there is more to the universe than what we can quantify in an equation. This has led me to complete the 2 year ‘Earning the Light’ shamanic training program in Ottawa facilitated by Algonquin Medicine Man, Pete Bernard.

I have traveled, having lived in five different countries. I am a father, a licensed private pilot, a licensed professional engineer, and I served for 3 years in an infantry regiment of the Canadian Army Reserve.

WhY DO I DO THIS? Luctor Et Emergo.

That is the motto of the Dutch province of Zeeland. It was explained to me by a lovely friend whilst walking through Middelburg “to  struggle and rise above”.

It resonates with me. This is what I want to do. I will be a guide for clients so they can rise above the struggle, the issue, the trauma, the wound.

WILL THIS HELP ME?

Sessions are designed to shift you towards your healed outcome. Examples of issues that I’ve facilitated for clients are:

  • Regaining personal power
  • PTSD from deployment as a peacekeeper
  • PTSD of 911 call centre operator
  • Healing ancestral trauma
  • Self worth
  • Death of child
  • Letting go of a past relationship
  • Space clearing – preparing a house for sale, getting rid of heavy energy in a space

WHERE DID YOU TRAIN?

My healing journey began training as a Reiki Master in 2009 at Akasha’s Den in Oakville, Ontario.

My shamanic healing training took place at The 8th Fire in Ottawa, Ontario, completing the 2 year Earning The Light program in 2015.  Perhaps this is training you are interested in taking yourself!

NOT SURE THIS IS FOR YOU?

That’s ok. Give me call for a free consultation. Ask questions. Get a feel for what I do. If it resonates with you then you have the choice to book a session.
